CORE SERVICE
Project and Program Delivery
From individual technology projects to complex, multi-workstream programs, KOSMOS provides experienced execution leadership to drive delivery from start to finish
Project and Program Management
One accountable execution layer across the entire initiative.
KOSMOS leads defined technology projects and connected programs from initiation through delivery, transition and closure. We coordinate the people, decisions, vendors, resources and dependencies that determine whether the business gets the outcome it invested in. Depending on the engagement, this may be a dedicated or fractional senior PM, a Program Manager or a broader delivery structure.
What this service covers:
-
Initiation and delivery strategy
Establish objectives, scope, success criteria, sponsorship, roles and the integrated path forward.
-
Integrated planning and scheduling
Build and maintain milestones, workstreams, dependencies, resourcing and the project or program baseline.
-
Stakeholder management
Align executives, business units, IT leaders, Operations, Finance, Security and other decision-makers around one outcome.
-
Vendor and partner coordination
Integrate implementation partners and internal specialists, track handoffs and manage dependencies across contractual boundaries.
-
Risk, issue and dependency management
Identify exposure early, assign ownership, escalate material threats and drive mitigation through resolution.
-
Budget and financial control
Maintain budget and forecast visibility, track consumption and changes, and surface commercial exposure before it becomes a surprise.
-
Scope, change and decision control
Assess impact, maintain decision paths and ensure approved changes are reflected in the delivery plan.
-
Governance and executive reporting
Provide reliable status, meaningful indicators and clear decisions - not reporting for its own sake.
-
Implementation and business readiness
Coordinate testing, UAT, data or migration dependencies, cutover planning and operational readiness with the responsible teams.
-
Transition, acceptance and closeout
Coordinate handover, documentation, acceptance, remaining actions and an orderly conclusion to the engagement.
HOW THIS SERVICE WORKS
From the first conversation to closeout
This is the working logic behind delivery, not a rigid sequence: controls and decisions stay active throughout the engagement. Typical working outputs include an integrated plan, ownership and governance model, RAID and decision controls, financial/status reporting, readiness coordination and documented transition tailored to the project’s needs.

A DELIVERY MANDATE
PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTING BUILT AROUND OUTCOMES
Project management support is often bought by the hour. KOSMOS prefers to take on a delivery mandate: accountability for a defined outcome, with the planning, governance and follow-through needed to reach it. Progress is measured against that outcome from the first week, so everyone involved knows what the engagement is there to achieve.
Some engagements call for dedicated capacity instead, and KOSMOS can provide a fractional or dedicated Project Manager or Program Manager. That person brings the KOSMOS method with them, and a Delivery Director keeps an independent view of how the work is going. Either way, the delivery model stays the same, so the quality of execution doesn’t depend on which arrangement you choose.

PROOF IN DELIVERY
SIX MONTHS OF DELIVERY LEADERSHIP ON MICROSOFT PURVIEW
On an enterprise information protection initiative built on Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365, KOSMOS held project delivery leadership and governance for about six months in 2026. The engagement covered planning, stakeholder alignment, policy design and the coordination of the rollout across business and technical teams.
Sensitivity labels and data loss prevention policies were in place and running in audit mode when the project closed. The organization received a documented handover, with the next decisions on enforcement clearly in its own hands.
STAGE BY STAGE
WHAT HAPPENS AT EACH STAGE
Each stage has its own purpose and outputs, but in practice they overlap. Decisions, risks and change control stay active from start to finish, and the plan is adjusted as new information comes in.
01
Understand and assess
KOSMOS starts by learning the initiative: its objectives, scope, sponsors, constraints and current state. Existing plans, contracts and commitments are reviewed, so the engagement begins from facts rather than assumptions.
02
Structure and plan
The integrated plan takes shape: milestones, workstreams, dependencies, resourcing and the baseline everyone works from. Roles, ownership and the governance model are agreed, so every decision has a clear path and an owner.
03
Align
Executives, business units, technical teams and vendors are brought around one outcome. Each party knows what it owns, what it depends on and how progress will be reported.
04
Execute and control
Day-to-day delivery runs against the plan. Risks, issues and dependencies are tracked and escalated, approved changes flow into the baseline and budget visibility stays current, with regular reporting to leadership.
05
Transition and close
Testing, cutover and business readiness are coordinated with the responsible teams. The work closes with acceptance, a documented handover and a clear list of any remaining actions, so operations can take over cleanly.
FAQ
Answers to common questions
Questions organizations often ask before choosing project management consulting for a technology initiative.
01
What’s the difference between a project manager and a program manager?
A Project Manager leads one initiative with defined objectives, scope and timeline. A Program Manager leads several related projects or workstreams whose combined results deliver a broader business outcome. KOSMOS provides both, depending on the shape of the work.
02
Should we hire a project manager or work with KOSMOS?
For some needs, a permanent hire is the right choice. KOSMOS fits when you want more than one person’s capacity: a lead backed by a method, shared standards and independent oversight, available without waiting on recruitment and able to scale as the work changes.
03
How are project management services from KOSMOS priced?
Fees depend on the scope and the delivery requirements. The structure is agreed with you at the start and can be fixed-fee, milestone-based, retainer or time-and-materials.
04
Who will we work with day to day?
Your main contact is the senior Project Manager or Program Manager leading the work. A Delivery Director stays involved in the background, watching delivery health and stepping in on material risks or escalations.
05
Does KOSMOS work with organizations in the United States?
Yes. KOSMOS is based in Canada and works with organizations across Canada and the United States. Delivery is remote-first, with on-site time when an engagement needs it.
